Extract Audio from Any Video Using VLC

Thanks to new software domain, it is now possible to extract audio from any video file. VLC Media Player is a great free, open-source multimedia player to achieve this.

If you don't already have VLC Media Player installed on your computer, you can download the software from our Downloads section. 

Once installed, launch the application, and click on Media. Then scroll to Advanced Open File:

Next, go to the File tab and click on Add to select the video from which you'd like to extract audio. 

Click the Convert button located in the dropdown menu next to the Play option:
In the next window, enter the output path and select the WAV encapsulation method. 

Note that VLC allows you to choose from several audio codecs. Once the WAV file is created, it is possible to convert it to a number of formats, including mp3.
